The Stanley Powerlock Stainless Steel 8m... is this all the tape you could ever want? Quite possibly... Not only does this tape feature an 8m long, 25mm wide (1.8m standout) blade with metric only graduations along its length, that same blade is also manufactured from high quality stainless steel. As a result features excellent resistance to rust / corrosion making it the ideal tape for those working in and around water. Or simply those who work outdoors on a regular basis.
The spring too (a key part of the internal mechanism) is made from stainless steel and makes extended working in hot, humid and wet conditions no problem at all. The blade is coated with a special nylon film that helps extend the life of the blade and keeps the markings fresh and clear.
As with all tape measures in the Powerlock range, this model features a 'tru-zero' floating hook that makes for accurate internal as well as external measurements. The case (as with all other Powerlocks) is manufactured from shock resistant ABS plastic, chrome plated for added rust resistance.

Unsurprisingly, one of the best features of this tape is the lock, which holds firmly and makes it possible to work without assistance. Even fully extended and locked the tape is strong and doesn't sag. When retracted the blade returns smoothly and swiftly - watch your fingers though! Top tape by Stanley.

Stanley have good reputation and rightly so. Powerlock not as heavy duty as FatMax but prefer it. It's still a strong and versatile tape and perfect for my needs.

A well made good looking tape rule with very clear metric markings. Arrived quickly too. This is the third tape I've had from this website - still not disappointed.
