It could mean that we advertise to previous visitors who haven’t completed a task on our site, for example using the contact form to make an enquiry. This could be in the form of an advertisement on the Google search results page, or a site in the Google Display Network. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on someone’s past visits to the The Tape Store's website. Of course, any data collected will be used in accordance with our own privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy.

SECURITY POLICY

The Tape Store takes your security and that of your personal information very seriously. We always have and will continue to offer all of our customers the very highest levels of security commercially available for online transactions.

SSL Secured

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a series of internet rules enforced upon computers connected to the Internet. These rules include encryption (which guards against spying and eavesdropping), authentication (which helps verify that the party who receives data from your site is actually who they claim to be) and data integrity (which ensures that any data sent is not interfered with during transmission).

All information that is passed between your computer and this site is SSL secured, the certificate for which is provided by Comodo. This system helps to ensure that your personal information is both securely transmitted and safe from third parties. When you're entering your billing and card information you will see https:// at the start of the URL. The 's' means that this page is secure and that means your data couldn't be in safer hands.

Someone intercepting the information would have to find the right key - a nearly impossible task. It is virtually impossible for an unauthorised party to find the right key, even if they are equipped with the very best technology.

You can check our site’s security status within all major browsers.

If you're about to send information to a site that's not using SSL your browser should really warn you first. SSL protects your communications during transmission. Because of the authentication involved, secure servers are slower than the regular server for delivering files. Therefore SSL is only used when transmitting sensitive information across the web.

Banking

On The Tape Store’s behalf, our parent company Kootoo Ltd banks with HSBC, the winner of a number online security awards in recent years. We use HSBC Merchant Services, the World’s sixth largest card processing provider and a firm that has headed up the development of some of the most secure and best value products and services in the industry.

In 2011 HSBC Merchant Services won the vaunted ‘Best Security or Anti-Fraud Development’ Award at the Card & Payment Awards. Just a little later that same month, they also won the coveted ‘Merchant Award’ at the European Card Acquiring Awards for the second year on the trot.

PCI DSS compliance

PCI DSS compliance is something that all e-commerce sites must have in place in order to operate. Standing for Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, PCI DSS is intended to safeguard both our and your data against fraudulent payments and practices. So that we can accept cards such as MasterCard and Visa, The Tape Store absolutely must be PCI DSS compliant. The Tape Store employs one the World’s leading online security and compliance firms, Security Metrics, to make sure that we are 100% on the ball.
