Tender List Confirmed for £4bn Schools Project

news

6th August 2013

Fifteen main contractors have been named as those who will be invited to bid for the Education Funding Agency's forthcoming four billion pound school building framework.

Whilst 15 firms have been selected in total, 11 of them have been successful in bidding for both regions (Sector North and Sector South) whilst 13 firms have been chosen for each region.

A number of those on the list will be all too familiar to many of those working in the construction sector; especially during the Labour Government's 'Building Schools for the Future' project which was scrapped in 2010. Balfour Beatty, Kier and Interserve amongst a whole host of contractors who have remained on the shortlist into 2013 whilst contractors Rydon, Apollo and Lend Lease have not been so lucky.
