Bahco Tape Measures

Bahco, part of SNA Europe, is one of Europe's largest and most respected manufacturers of hand tools and, perhaps most notably, tape measures. Many of you may never have heard of SNA but you will no doubt have heard of their parent company, Snap-on Inc.

Bahco, as with Snap-on, pride themselves on developing tools that cater for even the most exacting trade and craftsmen. Their whole design process from start to finish is centred around the holy grails of hand tool manufacture... usability, comfort, reliability and performance.

Bahco tape measures find their origin in Sweden way back in 1862. Originally known as Högbo Stål and Jernwerks AB, the firm was originally established to produce super high quality steel, the benefits of which can still be seen in the steel used in their tape blades today. Like many other world-famous Swedish firms, Bahco places health and safety at the very heart of everything they do... use a Bahco tape measure for any length of time and you will that these principles are built into every last component.

Over the years the company expanded and merged with another Swedish company, Enköpings Mekaniska Verkstad, a firm who filed patents for both the world's first pipe wrench and the world's very first adjustable spanner. Try to imagine life as a mechanic, a plumber or almost any type of engineer today without tools like these. With literally hundreds of patents to its name, the company that became Bahco in 1916 has lost none of its innovative spirit in over 125 years since it was founded.

Wherever you see the trademark 'fish and hook' logo you can rest safe in the knowledge that you're using a tape measure of the very highest quality.
