Leica NA700 Levels

Unlike almost any other optical levels available today, Leica’s NA700 series have been specifically designed to take absolutely everything the modern worksite can throw at them. Available in four levels of magnification, all with superb levels of accuracy, Leica’s NA700 could arguably be described as the ultimate construction level.

Imagine you’re on site and your level is knocked from your hand or tripod... with a regular dumpy level a service or even the nearest bin could be in order. The same could be true if you were drop your level in water. Not so with a NA700. With a solid metal surround, ultra-durable construction and IP57 rating (fully waterproof), air damped compensator and a whole host of other robust features, these levels can be used day in, day out in the harshest conditions, standing up to heavy vibration caused by machinery, road or rail traffic without the need for even the slightest adjustment.

The four versions available are the NA720 (20x magnification), the NA724 (24x), the NA728 (28x) and the NA730 (30x). Magnification is the key difference but accuracy also has its part to play. In terms of standard deviation, over a 1km double levelling run the NA720 is accurate to 2.5mm whilst, over the same distance, the NA730 is accurate to an incredible 1.2mm. A single measurement at 30m by the NA720 is accurate to 1.5mm whilst the NA730 at the same distance is accurate to 0.8mm. What’s more, the NA700 delivers a minimum/short focus distance of only 50cm. All of this is possible thanks to what are probably the finest levelling optics in the world.

These same optics provide excellent contrast and the ability to measure accurately even in low light conditions. This plus advanced, ergonomic sights reduces the effect of tired eyes and allows the user to continue levelling for longer with less chance of error. Not only does this make life easier for the leveller, it also increases productivity, efficiency and saves money.

The circular bubble and horizontal circle are positioned next to the gas-filled telescope in such a way that they can be read quickly and easily at a glance. Thanks to the double-sided, endless ‘fine drive’ mechanism the user has a 360° field of vision that’s infinitely adjustable to provide maximum precision when targeting.

They may be a little more expensive than the average Leica Jogger or Runner level but any construction, landscaping, railway or civil engineering professional will tell you an NA700 is worth every penny.
