The Fisco Big T Tape 8m/26ft (BT8ME) pocket tape is the product of years of dedicated research and development from one of the most research focused manufacturers operating in the UK today. And we're not just talking about time in the workshop or testing laboratory; Fisco's engineers have spent week after week in the field, working directly with tradesmen to tailor this tape to the most demanding of professionals and situations.
Every last feature on this tape measure is designed specifically to make your job easier and the end result better. Called by Fisco "probably the world's most advanced measuring tape", the Big T features a top quality, 8 metre (26 feet) steel blade. Accurate the EC Class I levels for unparalleled accuracy and 25mm wide for easy reading and fantastic standout, the blade is finished off by an end hook that is, quite incredibly, coated in aerospace polymer. This is there, not just to impress, but to provide a grippy surface that in turn prevents the hook from slipping whilst taking measurements. The hook is connected to the blade by a four rivet system, practically unheard of in tape measure design, and also incorporates a handy clear plastic cover that allows you, the user, to read the markings underneath.
The case is precisely 100mm in length - a really useful touch in that it makes taking internal measurements a doddle. Just butt the case up against a skirting board (for example) and add precisely 100mm on to whatever distance the blade shows! The shell is manufactured from tough, impact resistant ABS plastic with localised shock absorbers, a clip in/clip out belt holster and a fast, firm blade lock coming as standard.

Really does it all

Needed a tape that could do it all and so far the BT8 has proved up to the task. In the past 5m tapes have brought me up short several times while 10m were just too hefty to carry around on my person so this 8m bridged the gap perfectly - for me at any rate. Thanks Ian, your input was invaluable to my decision and I haven't regretted it yet!

Compared to a Stanley fat max (which is pretty good in its own right this is awesome. Only thing it lacks is upward facing prongs for measuring under stuff.
Feels good, smooth action and little force required to lock it. Belt clip is super handy.

This is the ideal tape measure from those who don't want something as bulky as a stanley fatmax but still want a durable tape. The case will easily take some punishment and the belt clip is brilliant. Much lighter than a stanley too which I like. The edge of the blade isn't as sharp as the stanley either so you don't cut yourself on it.
